This is not what I wanted Call for submissions
This is not what I wanted Call for submissions
Call for submissions for a group show in Waterside Project Space in October 2009. ‘This is not what I wanted’ deals with themes of disappointment, boredom, expectation and anticipation, time passing and time-wasting, both in the production and reception of work. The disappointment of the works should not come from their failures (i.e. classically ‘bad’ work is not interesting in this context), and the boredom should be engaged in a sense deeper than that of time-consuming and painstaking craft. The exhibition will consist mostly of visual artworks, but performative pieces will be considered as well. Waterside Project Space is a large white cube / warehouse space in Wharf Road, London N1, and hosts a programme of one-night exhibitions and performance events. Funding is unfortunately not available at this stage and participating artists will need to cover their own production and transport costs. Please send images of works with some text, proposals for new works, links, bios etc. to Pierre d’Alancaisez at pierre@petitpoi.net.

The Wild Pansy Press Book of Rainy Day Activities Call for proposals
The Wild Pansy Press Book of Rainy Day Activities Call for proposals
As our contribution to the exhibition CRUNCHTIME: artists’ responses to the global credit crisis and its timetable of associated events, The Wild Pansy Press will be producing a publication in which a range of artists, designers, activists........ make concrete suggestions for new cultural activities in a Post-Crunch society, with an emphasis on the practical, the cheap and the sustainable. The book will be available free at the main exhibition venue in York for the duration of the 8-day event in February and will then be on sale through various distributors, independent bookshops and galleries worldwide and from our own website. In addition, larger-format supporting items such as detailed plans, circuit diagrams and motivational posters will be also available as free downloads from the Wild Pansy site. The publication will be a squared-off A4 format (210 x 210 mm) and its design will reflect the contents. We are currently negotiating funding to cover the costs of making selected “prototypes” by contributors. So we now invite you to submit your ideas, proposals and plans for things to make, things to perform, things to read, models for organisation, models for action, recipes for (avoiding) disaster, recipes for big dinners... to: info@wildpansypress.com

Global Participation Project Call for Collaborators - Deadline: Wed 30 September 2009
Global Participation Project Call for Collaborators
A correspondence project is being initiated in the UK and seeks to go global with your help. Volunteers around the world are needed to put up an advert in various locations and places where people may spot it, such as a lamp post or bus stop. The advert will ask a passer-by to form a dialogue with me which will last for one year. The evolving correspondence will entail a sense of trust, curiosity and explore connectivity from the local to the global. You will be part of a mass global project which will make the concept of connectivity a more physically travelled and anticipated past time other than succumbing to electronic formats. If you or anyone you know in another country that might be interested in collaborating and putting this advert out please email me on global.correspondence@googlemail.com I will then send you the advert and you can put it onto a lamp post, a bus stop, in a shop window, in a telephone booth, on the side of a delivery truck, on an A Board, in a newspaper or a billboard or anywhere else you deem suitable. You just need to post me a photo of it up in your chosen location. Deadline: Wed 30 September 2009

Time, Time, Time Call for Submissions
Time, Time, Time
Call for Submissions
Last year’s 3rd annual show at Terrace brought together a group of over 30 artists whose work was installed and left outdoors on a former piece of wasteland. The private view was attended by over 300 people, the exhibition has remained in the space, exposed to the elements and has shifted, faded, broken, rotted, remained and disappeared over the past 12 months. This year there is a call for entries that will add to this exhibition and again be left in the outdoor space - the theme of the show is TIME. The opening will be for one day only and will include a barbeque, DJs, the much anticipated album playback from the band Lark and an after show party at the Duke of Wellington. Last years artists included: Maxine Beuret, Diane Bielik, Karl Bielik, Keira Blakey, Boyle & Shaw, Bimba Champion, Annabelle Dalby, Annie Davey, Julia Defferary, Pravin Dewdhory, Rob Flowers, Matt Golden, Julia Hamilton, Ross Hansen, Alex Hermon, Andrea Lippett, Heidi Locher, Vibeke Luther, Andrea Madjesi-Jones, Lorna Milburn, Nicola Morrison, Chris Peabody, Jo Peace, Grant Petrey, Will Robson-Scott, Rachel Russell, Marianne Spurr, Nicko Straniero, Sophie Tomlinson, Emily Trotter, Marijke Vasey, Max Wade, Julian Wakelin, Lynda Whitmore, Phil Wise, Retts Wood and Elizabeth Wright.
