Das poolbar-Festival und die IG BILDENDE KUNST veranstalten 2009 im Zuge des poolbar-Festivals zum fünften Mal einen offenen Kunstwettbewerb und laden Kunst- und Kulturschaffende aus den Bereichen Bildende Kunst, Medien- und Performancekunst sowie angrenzender Gebiete ein, sich mit Projekten zu beteiligen. Gesucht werden Vorschläge für zwei künstlerische Interventionen im alten Hallenbad und dem Eingangsbereich zum alten Hallenbad. Projektbudget 700 €, eventuell zusätzliches Sachsponsoring möglich.

The parasite-net platform and the Kunstraum parasite-net have won the Creative Graz Award in the category networks & initiatives.

The award ceremony has taken place in Graz (AUT) in the Dom im Berg on the 17th of November 2008 and has featured the parasite-net members Permanent-Unit, who have underlined the presentation with on the spot drawings with a live tag tool and have also been in charge of the stage design.

We would like to express our special thanks to the city of Graz, who made this award possible. Particularly we would like to thank Mag. Andrea Keimel from the department of economic and tourist development of the city of Graz and Dr. Roland Anton-Scheidl, head of jury who supported our project.

This weekend the first parasite-net art & design board meeting with the board members from abroad has taken place and it was great to meet everybody in Graz (AUT) and we had interesting conversations about art and also a very good time.

From now on the board members will recommend artists & designers to me and I will invite them to join the platform and become parasite-net members.

The platform originally planned to be a place for artists & designers to be presented alone has now been enlarged to all professionals working in the art and design field such as curators, galerists and their art/ design spaces and also collectors that would like to present their personal collections online and in this way make it accessible to a wider audience around the world or there might in future also exist  the possibility to make it accessible to a selected group of users only.

We are very excited about all the new possibilities of the new platform and hope that you keep coming back for updates on our endavours that we are undertaking.

The parasite-net relaunch presentation at the art space ESC-Labor has been very well received and has been a great success.

Beginning with a short introduction by our host Reni Hofmüller who is the head of ESC-Labor, I have welcomed our guests and presented our new parasite-net webbased platform and its new skin as well as announced the inauguration of our new art space that will be opened at the end of this year or beginning of the next year with the opening exhibition by the upcoming artist Clemens Hollerer that will have his first solo exhibition at the Kunstraum parasite-net.

Thanks a lot again to Georg Kettele aka Pixelcrash and who's part of kmkg (Kern Martin & Kettele Georg) and Matthias Jäger from the Blattwerk platform for their effort in making the platform a great place to check out and invite for regular returns.

I am very pleased that most of our art and design board members have travelled to Graz from entire Europe and supported us on this fabulous day in relaunching our platform parasite-net. It was a great joy to meet everybody again and long lasting co-operations and friendships could be established.

In the coming weeks we will make a vast mailout to national and international press and promote the platform and its members, so it would be great if all members sites would be finished by Monday, 3rd November 2008.
